NMS Wins Mothercare ISB APJ Inter-Junior School Science Quest

 The Mothercare ISB APJ Inter-Junior School Science Quest Season 4 finale was held at the Indian School Riffa Campus on Friday, June 2, 2023. The Science Quest Season 4 was won by Arihaan Chakraborty and Reyansh Makhija of the New Millennium School(NMS). The first and second runners up rolling trophies were bagged respectively by Trishan M and Sahana Karthik of Bahrain Indian School (BIS) and Punya Shaji and Dhyaan Aluvakkaran from The Indian School(ISB). The star finalists of the quiz also included Aahil Suneer and Aslam Suneer of Al Noor International School , Zamrin Ajumal and Omar Abdulla Hussain of Britus International School and Noel Abraham and Bharat Vipin of New Indian School(NIS).

Secretary   Saji Antony, Executive Committee Members Binu Mannil Varughese, Rajesh MN, Mohammed  Nayaz Ullah , Principal   VR Palaniswamy, Riffa Campus Principal   Pamela Xavier,  Quiz Masters  Dr. Babu Ramachandran (Head – Amwaj Medical and Wellness Centre, American Mission Hospital)  Bonny Joseph (Director – Bonny’s Educational Services, Bonny’s Classroom), Tanima Tom (Managing Partner - Bonny's Educational Services & Bonny's Classroom),New Indian School Principal Kollath Gopinath Menon ,Vice-Principals, staff,  parents, mentors and students attended.

The event commenced amidst much fanfare  and star quizzers  were led to the venue by the   ISB Band and school’s welcome troupe. The program started with  the lamp lighting ceremony by the dignitaries.

 

Prince S Natarajan  praised the school's efforts in organizing such a beneficial educational event for the students. He appreciated the efforts of the mentors and all the teams in training the students to think out of the box and in preparing the young ones for the real world.

The dynamic quiz masters Dr. Babu Ramachandran and Bonny Joseph conducted the quiz in the most befitting and entertaining manner. As soon as the first question was asked, the hall reverberated with murmurs. The quiz masters engaged the audience with fun trivia and questions related to the title sponsor, Mothercare. Many among the audience received gift vouchers for the right answers. At the end of the fifth  round,  it was Bahrain Indian School and The Indian School who were in the lead, however, towards the end of the eighth round New Millennium School who were quickest to decode moved up the table.

The final round was a rapid-fire round that literally saw the schools competing neck-to-neck. The most spectacular performance in this round was given by The Indian School team, as they answered all the questions correctly. The entire hall echoed with thunderous applause and cheers. This round also witnessed some nail-biting moments as scores of  Bahrain Indian School and New Millennium School were tied at the top.

The tie breaker question was a tricky one and children from both the schools answered it effortlessly. Quiz masters Dr. Babu and Mr.Bonny were put to the test by the youngsters. Finally the tie was broken by the sudden death question. The students exhibited encyclopedic knowledge and at the end of a stellar performance the winners were felicitated by the dignitaries.

During the time taken to officially announce the winners with trophies, the talented students from The Indian School  presented some amazing dances.  The programme started with  the National Anthems of Bahrain and India and the recitation of the Holy Quran   by students of Class 3. Principal   Pamela Xavier welcomed  the guests.  She also acknowledged the former quiz master Sarath Menon and team for leading the event in the past. Prince Natarajan  and EC Members honoured the Chief Guest, Guests of Honour, Quiz Masters and mentors from all the participating schools. Saji Antony delivered the vote of thanks.  He congratulated and thanked all the participants and teachers for their efforts and acknowledged all the teams who have worked behind the scenes. He also acknowledged all the sponsors Macmillan Education, Union Stationery, Awal Dairy and Book Mart  for their support.
