Indian School Swears in Student Leaders for New Academic Year

The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) Prefectorial Council for the academic year 2022-2023 was formally inducted during an investiture ceremony held in the Jashanmal Auditorium on October 1, 2022. Hon. Chairman Prince S. Natarajan, Vice-Chairman Jayafar Maidani, EC Members Mohammad Khursheed Alam, Binu Mannil Varughese, Rajesh Nambiar, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Staff Representative Johnson Devassy, Vice-Principals and Heads of Sections, teachers, and students were among those who attended the investiture ceremony. Aadersh Abhilash and Vigneshwari Natarajan from XII P were selected respectively as the Head Boy and Head Girl of the Prefectorial Council for Level A which consists of classes XI and XII. Gopu Ajith (X N) and Aradhya Kanodathil (X C) were selected as Head Boy and Head Girl for Level B consisting of grades IX and X. Head Boy Joel Shaiju (VIII N) and Head Girl Agrima Yadav(VIII P) were selected from level C consisting of grades VI-VIII. Ahmed Mostafa Hassan Said (V P) and Anika Ragahvendra (V U) are the Head Boy and Head Girl of Level D grades IV and V. The council consists of students from classes IV to XII who were selected on the basis of their academic and leadership qualities. Hon. Chairman Prince S. Natarajan who inaugurated the programme urged the student council members to be promising leaders and fulfil the vision and mission of the school by excelling in their journey towards a holistic development. He reminded the student leaders to take their responsibilities in the true spirit of teamwork which will help in bringing all students together. The oath of office was administered by Principal VR Palaniswamy. The Principal congratulated the newly elected student council and emphasised that they should perform their duties as student leaders to the best of their ability. Aryan Arora and Aiswarya Sinilal compered the programme. The ceremony started with national anthems, recitation from Holy Quran and school choir. A march past of student leaders holding school flag was carried out in perfect synchronization with the beat of the school band. The principal welcomed the gathering and administered the oath of office to the newly elected prefects. Vice- Principals Anand Nair (Senior Section) and Vinod S (Middle Section) read out the list of office bearers. The school officials pinned the badges and handed the flag to the head boy. The Head Boy and Head Girl in their acceptance speech reaffirmed the diligence and dedication with which the new student council would function. Anand Nair prosed vote of thanks.
