ISB student enters India Book of Records
Indian School student Nivedhya Vinod Kumar has entered the India Book of Records for her craft work using waste materials. She made 70 artifacts including flowers, wall hangings, snowmen, dolls, lanterns and hand mirrors using waste materials. She is appreciated for creating the best out of waste materials using such as plastic bottles, pistachio shells, aluminum foil, paper cups, cardboards, old newspapers and waste bottles. 12-year-old Nivedhya Vinod Kumar is a grade 8 student at the Indian School Bahrain (ISB) Isa Town campus. Nivedhya said: “I have always seen many wastes around me, mainly plastics and other reusable waste materials. So, I thought if I started reusing all the reusable waste items I can create a hobby, and also I can reduce waste. My first craft was bottle art, I felt very interested in doing this. By doing this I learned a new skill and also I learned that this could increase my creativity and make our earth less polluted. I enjoyed doing these crafts and I started doing more.” She is daughter of Vinod Kumar who works as Manager at Miracle Hitech Company WLL, Gudaibiya and Rejitha Kumari. The family hails from Kollam District in Kerala, India. Nivedhya joined the Indian School in 2014 and has been active in co-curricular activities. ISB Hon. Chairman Prince S Natarajan, Hon.
