Indian School Celebrates French Day

The Indian School, Bahrain (ISB) conducted its annual French Day (La Matinée Française 2021-22) on Thursday, January 20, 2022, depicting various programs to celebrate the second most widely learned foreign language in the world and highlight its rich culture. The programme commenced with the National Anthem of Bahrain, India and France followed by the recital of the Holy Quran and the school prayer. This year the French Day involved participants from Grade VI to Grade X and lasted from January 16 to January 20 to capacitate the large number of students in the French Department. Phase 1 was held on December 4, 2021 with 15 students from grades 6 to 8 participating in the pencil drawing events; 15 students from grades 8 to 10 participating in the poster making events and; 4 students from grades 9 and 10 participating in the essay writing. Phase 2 was held on different days (from 16th to 20th January 2022) due to the large number of students of the French language partaking in various events namely, poem recitation, rhymes recital, speeches, role plays, powerpoint presentation on France, and quiz. The weeklong French Day celebration concluded on January 20. At the end of the programme, on behalf of the French Department, Head of Department Trévise Michel felicitated all the students on their hard work and dedication towards the success of the French Week. Hon.Chairman Prince S Natarajan, Hon.Secretary Saji Antony and Principal VR Palaniswamy appreciated the efforts of all the participants and the teachers responsible in organising the virtual celebration.
