Indian School Celebrates Republic Day

The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) celebrated the 73rd Republic Day of India on Wednesday at the school campus in Isa Town with patriotic fervour adhering to Covid-19 guidelines. The celebration commenced with ISB Hon. Chairman Prince S Natarajan hoisting the Indian National Flag. Executive Committee Members Rajesh MN, Mohammed Nayaz Ullah, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Riffa Campus Principal Pamela Xavier and Vice- Principals attended the ceremony. The flag hoisting was followed by the National Anthem. Prince S Natarajan highlighted the significance of the Republic Day which is celebrated to mark the adoption of the Indian Constitution, which came into effect on this day in 1950. Quoting Indian President Ram Nath Kovind’s Republic Day message, he said : ' The diversity and vibrancy of our democracy is appreciated world-wide. It is this spirit of unity and of being one nation which is celebrated every year as Republic Day. This year’s celebrations may be muted due to the pandemic, but the spirit is as strong as ever.' The Middle Section organised a competition in patriotic song online. Following are the winners: Ritukeerth Vineesh Nisha (8E), Advaith Anilkumar(7D) and Shreya Susan Zacaria (6W). Hon.Chairman Prince S Natarajan, Hon.Secretary Saji Antony and Principal VR Palaniswamy congratulated the winners.
