Indian School Celebrates Vishwa Hindi Divas 2022
The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) celebrated Vishwa Hindi Divas 2022 in vibrant colors on Saturday, January 8, 2022, in Microsoft Teams. ISB Hindi Department conducted the Hindi Divas in collaboration with the Indian Embassy. The program started with the national anthem of Bahrain and India followed by the school prayer song. The Holy Qura’n was recited and by class 10 student Zainab Firoz Khan. Hindi Department HoD Baboo Khan welcomed the gathering. Judges Sadanand Kashinath Bhosly (Professor & Ex. Head of the Department of Hindi, Savitribai Phule University of Pune) and Mohammad Shahul Hameed ( Professor of Hindi, Aligarh Muslim University, Uttar Pradesh) attended. ISB Senior Section Vice-Principal Anand R Nair inaugurated the programme. This was the grand finale of the week-long celebrations which were conducted in two phases. In the first phase inter-school competitions and cultural activities were organised. The award ceremony was held in the Indian Embassy on January 10. Indian Ambassador Piyush Srivastava awarded the trophies and certificates to the winners. The following inter-school competitions were conducted: Hindi Story telling for Std IV and V, Hindi Poem Recitation for Std VI to VIII and Hindi Solo Song for Std. IX and X. The New Millennium School, The Asian School, The New Indian School, Bahrain Indian School, Ibn Al Hytham Islamic School , Al Noor International School and New Horizon school were the other CBSE schools which took part in the competitions. Apart from competitions there were lots of programs such as patriotic and value-based songs. Prof. Kashinath Bhosly in his address highlighted the contribution of the Hindi language in different states in different ways. He appreciated the program conducted and presented by Indian School students, especially the patriotic songs performed by Raman Kumar of class 9. Prof.Mohammad Shahul Hameed appreciated the effort by the Indian School towards organizing of Vishwa Hindi Divas in a grand manner. At the end of the program, winners' names were announced by Prof.Sadanand Kashinath Bhosly, Prof.Shahul Mohammad Hameed and HoD Baboo Khan. Head Teachers Jose Thomas, Priya Laji,HeadTeacher Activity-Senior Section Sreekanth Sreedharan, Head Teacher Activity-Junior Section CM Junith, Pius Mathew (HoD Computer Science),Dr.Rasheed (HoD Commerce), organizing committee members Srilatha Nair, Shalini Mareena, Mala Singh, Shabreen Sulthana, Sheema Attukandathil, Kahkashan Khan, Sayali Amod Kelkar, Girija MK ,Jooli Vivek, Ganga Kumari and others teachers were present during the programme. Vote of thanks was given by Mala Singh.
