ISB Riffa Celebrates Children’s Day

The Indian School Riffa Campus celebrated Children's Day with the theme 'Every child is a different kind of flower and all together makes this world a beautiful garden.' Children’s day was celebrated with great grandeur and pomp. After the daily prayer, a variety of fun-filled activities were organised via both offline and face-to-face mode. Students were encouraged to choose their way of expressing their joy and appreciation for the day dedicated to children. Classes 1,2 and 3 came up with different ideas to communicate highlights of the day such as, presentations, messages, speeches, dances, poems and special assemblies based on the theme of the day. The kindergarteners shared their thoughts on the event, sang songs melodiously on the theme, colouring and sketching of related posters and drawings also featured on the occasion. Many of the students were dressed to the occasion wearing attires closely resembling the way Chacha Nehru always dressed, in a simple attire of white kurta pyjama with a jacket along with a rose flower in pocket. The event received enthusiastic responses from all the students. Each year November 14 is celebrated as Children’s Day or Bal Diwas. The special day is celebrated in remembrance of India’s first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru, born on November 14, 1889, who is fondly called as Chacha ji. November 14 marks Nehruji’s devotion to welfare, education and development of children and young people. This year the celebration was combined to highlight World Kindness Day. Expressing their love for the children, teachers shared presentations featuring highlights of the day and decorated the classroom with a welcoming warmth for the offline participants. They encouraged students to study well and become the glowing light of the future, bring smiles to the less fortunate, and grow to be a kind, sharing and caring generation. Principal Pamela Xavier, addressed the students with a very loving and inspirational message on the special day. ISB Hon.Chairman Prince S Natarajan in his message said: 'Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru considered children the real strength of a nation and the foundation of society. The day raises awareness about the rights, care, and education of children.' Hon.Secretary Saji Antony said: ' Children carry the hopes for our brighter tomorrow and the dreams of our happy future.'
