ISB Celebrates Urdu Day 2021

The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) Urdu Department Celebrated Urdu Day 2021 virtually in vibrant colours on Saturday , November 13, 2021.The programme started with the school Prayer followed by the national anthem of Bahrain and India. The Holy Qur'an was recited by Haifa Abdul Majeed of grade 10 and translated by Ayesha Fatima of grade 9. The introduction was done by Urdu teacher Mahanaz Khan. This was the Grand Finale of the weekend celebrations which had many competitions for the students of classes IV to X. Urdu poem recitation, Urdu storytelling, Urdu speech and drawing and coloring competitions were conducted. Apart from the competitions there were a lot of programmes such as patriotic song, national song and the most attractive event “guess the idioms’’ and ‘mushaira’. HoD Baboo Khan welcomed the gathering and announced the winners for drawing and coloring and Urdu poem recitation competitions. He appreciated the participants for their unique performance. Teachers Srilatha Nair and Shalini Mareena announced the winners of Urdu storytelling and speech competitions. Urdu Day committee members Mala Singh, Waheeda Begum and Kahkashan Khan also appreciated the students. Head Teacher Parvathi Devdas congratulated the prize winners. Department of Hindi & Urdu students and teachers were present during the programme. At the end of the programme vote of thanks was proposed by Ayesha Javed of class 6. The winners were awarded trophies and certificates. ISB Hon.Chairman Prince S Natarajan,Hon.Secretary Saji Antony,EC Member-Academics Mohammad Khursheed Aalam and Principal VR Palaniswamy appreciated the students and teachers for their active participation in the programme.
