ISB holds Investiture Ceremony for Prefectorial Council

The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) Prefectorial Council for the academic year 2021-2022 was formally inducted during an investiture ceremony held in the Jashanmal Auditorium on October 16, 2021, following Covid-19 guidelines. Hon. Chairman Prince S. Natarajan, Hon. Secretary Saji Antony, EC Members Binu Mannil Varughese,Saji George, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Riffa Campus Principal Pamela Xavier, Vice -Principals and Headteachers attended the ceremony. Alvin Sam was selected as the Head Boy and Aayushi Jogi as the Head Girl of the Prefectorial Council for Level - A which consists of classes XI and XII. For classes X and IX (Level B) Hariram Chembra was selected as the Head Boy and Joanna Jess Binu as the Head Girl. The Council consists of students from classes IV to XII who were selected on the basis of their organizational and leadership abilities. Hon. Chairman Prince S. Natarajan said the Prefect Council is a forum for the teaching and student communities to interact and that the Council members should take their responsibilities in the true spirit of teamwork which will help in bringing all students together. He reminded the student leaders to be gracious and lead from the front. Hon. Secretary Saji Antony said the purpose of the student council is to give students an opportunity to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects. Principal VR Palaniswamy said: ‘It’s important for students to experience leadership opportunities during their schooling, to learn the art of building relationships within teams, defining identities and achieving tasks effectively.' Riffa Campus Principal Pamela Xavier said: ‘Becoming a prefect is a great opportunity to master leadership which you will need even in your adulthood.’ The Head Boy and the Head Girl said they would be working in partnership with school management, staff and parents for the benefit of the school and its students.
