ISB Celebrates Technofest 2021

The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) celebrated the 18th Annual Science and Technology Day (Technofest) on September 29, 2021. Technofest is held annually to raise awareness among students that technology is ever-growing and ever-evolving especially during times such as a pandemic. The event, organized by the Science Faculty of the school, was held virtually through Microsoft Teams. Technofest 2021 was divided into three sessions: The first session was for classes 6 to 8 wherein students presented their projects and experiments; the second session was for classes 11 and 12 which included the Inter-School Symposium on the topic “Growth is optional, change is inevitable”; the final session was for classes 9 and 10 wherein students presented their working models. The Masters of Ceremonies were Jyotsna K Prasanth, Joanna Jess Binu and Janani Muthuraman. The welcome address was presented by Pritha Sharma of class 12. Sudipto Sengupta, the Head of the Physics Department, proposed the vote of thanks. The results of the Inter-School Symposium were announced by Pius Mathew, the Head of the Computer Science Department.This was the first Technofest conference conducted through a virtual platform, in the history of The Indian School Bahrain. Over 75 people attended the event including the judges and teaching faculty from various schools in Bahrain. Students from classes 6 to 12 took part in various events in the Technofest. Inter-School Symposium Winners: 1. Sarah Marianne Joseph (The Asian School), 2. Aaryan Koul (The New Millennium School), 3. Laasyasree Kumili (The Indian School). Event was jointly organized by Science Faculty heads Sudipto Sen Gupta -Physics, Pius Mathew – Computer Science, Rajashree Karnavar – Chemistry and Sudeepa Ghosh – Biology. ISB Hon. Chairman Prince S Natarajan, Hon.Secretary Saji Antony and Principal VR Palaniswamy appreciated the students and teachers for organizing the successful Technofest 2021.
