ISB Celebrates Social Science Day

The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) celebrated Social Science Day on September 30,2021 with various programmes held online. The programmes and activities were conducted in classes from IV to X. Class X focussed on Incredible India while Class V highlighted different facets of India. Powerpoint presentations and speeches highlighted the rich heritage and myriad attractions of India which is among the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Children of Vth standard dressed up in various costumes representing different Indian states and presented an overview of their states. Classes VII and VIII focussed on the importance of creating a green environment and raising awareness on waste management. The activities aimed at protecting, restoring and enhancing India’s diminishing forest cover and responding to climate change through adaptation and mitigation measures. Classes IV, VI and IX organised programmes to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi,the Father of the Nation. Mahatma Gandhi is the symbol of peace and truth. Gandhian thoughts, principles, values and ideals encourage our students to always be with the truth and have a nonviolent path towards their progress. The whole-hearted participation of the students, sincere efforts of the teachers and the support of the management made this event a grand success.HoD Prema Joseph coordinated the programme. ISB Hon. Chairman Prince S Natarajan,Hon.Secretary Saji Antony and Principal VR Palaniswamy appreciated the students and teachers for organizing the celebration which reflected the cultural diversity of India.
