The Indian School Celebrates Independence Day

The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) celebrated the 75th Independence Day of the country with patriotic fervour on August 15,2021. A series of online events were held to mark this momentous occasion. The celebrations commenced with ISB Hon. Chairman Prince S Natarajan unfurling the Indian National Flag at the Isa Town campus ground. Hon. Secretary Saji Antony, Hon. Vice-Chairman Jayafar Maidani, Hon. Member- Finance Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Hon. Members Ajayakrishnan V, Saji Mangad, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Riffa Campus Principal Pamela Xavier, Vice- Principals and staff attended the ceremony. The flag hoisting ceremony was followed by the national anthem. The programme was held to celebrate the spirit of this historic day by maintaining all social distancing and safety guidelines. ISB Hon. Chairman Prince S Natarajan highlighted the significance of the Independence Day stating that India achieved its long journey toward independence, guided by the message of truth and non-violence. Now the foundational commitment to respecting the will of the people through democracy continues to inspire the world, he said. Hon. Secretary Saji Antony said: ‘India's freedom fighters fought a long and hard struggle for the country's independence from the British. And, for years their words have inspired us.’ Principal VR Palaniswamy and Riffa Campus Principal Pamela Xavier conveyed warmest greetings to everyone on this momentous occasion.
