ISB Youth Festival Tarang Gets Underway Online

The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) youth festival Tarang 2021 got underway online on Tuesday with level D and C students participating in Hindi and English poem recitation competitions. The ISB Youth Festival is said to be one of the largest in the entire Gulf countries. Tarang is notable for the huge participation of students in around 130 events which gives tremendous opportunities for students of all ages to showcase their talent in dance, art and music. “The Indian School decided to conduct the event online to kindle the spirit of togetherness and encourage students to showcase their talents despite the difficult times. We have also taken a cue from recommendations in the National Education Policy that gives emphasis on the holistic development of children. It had suggested easing out academic stress and incorporating co-curricular activities in mainstream education”, said ISB Hon. Chairman Prince S Natarajan. ISB Hon. Secretary Saji Antony said “The students’ response to the events have been overwhelming. The participants have been enthusiastic and have helped us learn more about what we can do better since this was the first time we were putting together Tarang online.” Principal VR Palaniswamy said the Youth Festival is an opportunity for students to compete with one another displaying their talent and creative skills in Art and Literature. The difference from the previous years is that now students compete on online platforms from the safety of their homes. The performances got evaluated by a panel of judges,” he added. The participants scoring maximum points in stage and non-stage events will be awarded the prestigious Kalashri and Kalathilakam awards at the Grand Finale. The Indian School Bahrain has the strength of 12,250 students and the youth festival Tarang is a much-awaited event in the school calendar. The Indian School Kingdom of Bahrain
