ISB Riffa Campus celebrates Annual Day

The Indian School Riffa Campus celebrated its Annual Day themed ‘Euphonic Ocular Delight 2020’ on Thursday. It was a musical extravaganza to felicitate the co-curricular achievements at the end of the academic year 2019-20. Chief Guest Indian Embassy Second Secretary Renu Yadav, ISB Hon. Chairman Prince S. Natarajan, Hon. Secretary Saji Antony, Vice-Chairman Jayafar Maidanee,EC Members Mohammad Khursheed Alam, Premalatha NS , Adv.Binu Mannil Varughese ,Ajayakrishnan V, Saji George, Deepak Gopalakrishnan,Principal V.R. Palaniswamy, Riffa Campus Principal Pamela Xavier, ISB @ 70 General Convener Mohammad Hussain Malim, Vice-Principals,staff, parents and students attended the ceremony. Around 180 prize winners aged 4 to 9, who participated in various competitions in literary and oratory skills, performing arts etc were felicitated. A grand stage had been set up to match with the tunes of Indian melody “Retro- blast from the past” involving around 400 students. The spectacular evening began with the ISB Junior Band and Scouts and Guides Guard of Honour troupe receiving the dignitaries. It was followed by the rendition of the National Anthems, Holy Quran, School Song and the auspicious lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Pamela Xavier who welcomed the Chief Guest Renu Yadav and other dignitaries, emphasized the co-curricular progress of the school throughout the year. Sharing stage with her were students from class 3, who articulated the initiatives through the year. The show was anchored by students setting a progressive model of empowering children. Prince S Natarajan in his presidential address said that young ones are nurtured at Riffa Campus with confidence accentuating their soft skills and preparing them to become universal citizens. He also commended the achievements of both campuses for their progress at sustainable development initiatives. Chief Guest Renu Yadav found the show very impressive and said that she was confident the little ones are in excellent hands in the school. Saji Antony commended the efforts of Team Riffa in their efforts at developing the overall personality of the students. The event unfolded with scintillating performances by the students including local Arabic culture and enlivening musical eras of the new millennium, the rocking 90s, the evergreen 80s, disco from the 70s, taking the audience back in time right upto the serene black and white era of the 1950s . The appreciation of the classy hand designed backdrop made from recycled crafts, the breathtaking props and costumes , not to mention the outstanding training of pupils was seen in the reverberating cheering booming through the auditorium.
