Record Entries in Badminton Tournament

Manama: ISB Brain Craft International Bahrain Junior Ranking Circuit 2020 received a record number of entries as the matches began on Thursday. There were 208 entries in various categories with 129 players in total. Ministry of Information Affairs Asst.Undersecretary and BBSF Vice President Abdulla A Al Balooshi declared the match open. The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) in association with Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation (BBSF) is conducting the major ranking tournament this year with an aim to develop the sport in the Kingdom. ISB Hon.Chairman Prince S Natarajan, Hon.Secretary Saji Antony, EC Member- Sports Rajesh MN, EC Member-Finance Adv.Binu Mannil Varughese, Principal VR Palaniswamy,Riffa Campus Principal Pamela Xavier, Arab Badminton Federation Secretary General Jaffer Ebrahim, Muhammad Hussain Malim, S Inyayadulla, and Physical Education Teacher and tournament manager CM Junith attended the ceremony. The Junior Ranking Circuit 2020 will continue till January 27, 2020. The ranking will be given separately to boys and girls in the under 9,11,13,15,17 and 19 singles and doubles events. This is the first Badminton tournament to be held in the recently refurbished ISB badminton courts. There are four well-lit badminton courts courts housed in the high ceiling Jashanmal auditorium with impact resistant flooring. The Junior Ranking Circuit will follow the laws of Badminton strictly. This tournament will be followed by other ranking events hosted by Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS), Indian Club, Philippines Club (PBG), Ebrahim Badminton Academy (EBA) and BBSF. The top ranked players will be announced at the end of the year and they will be awarded during the Junior International Series 2020 in December 2020. The Indian School Kingdom of Bahrain

The Indian School is a CBSE affiliated school located in Bahrain. It was founded in the year 1950. The Indian School, Bahrain has around 12,000 students and is one of the largest co-ed schools in the Gulf.
