Indian School’s renovated Jashanmal auditorium and International Badminton Courts inaugurated
Providing more infrastructural facilities for the growth of sports activities, the Indian School’s renovated Jashanmal auditorium and the International Badminton courts were inaugurated on Wednesday. Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation (BBSF) Secretary General Hesham Alabbasi inaugurated the Badminton Courts in the presence of ISB Hon. Chairman Prince S Natarajan, Hon. Secretary Saji Antony, EC Members Rajesh MN, Ajayakrishnan V, Mohammad Khursheed Alam, Adv Binu Mannil Varughese, Saji George, Deepak Gopalakrishnan, Mohammed Nayaz Ullah, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Santy Excavations and Construction Company Managing Director R Ramesh , social workers Mohamed Malim , S Inayadullah , Vice-Principals and Physical Education teachers. ISB Chairman Prince S Natarajan presented a memento to Chief Guest Hesham Alabbasi who appreciated the spectacular performance of the ISB in sports arena. Principal VR Palaniswamy welcomed the gathering. EC Member-Sports Rajesh MN gave vote of thanks. The renovated sports centre is a dream come true for children and parents of the ISB as one of the promises for sports infrastructural developments made by the committee headed by Hon.Chairman Prince S Natarajan. The inaugural ceremony was followed by exhibition matches in the auditorium in Isa Town campus. There are four well lit badminton courts courts housed in the high ceiling auditorium with impact resistant flooring. The height of the auditorium has been increased and LED lighting has been installed as approved by the last AGM with reference to the improvement of sports facilities. The auditorium water proofing is also being implemented. The new indoor badminton courts will now see more Bahrain open tournaments and CBSE cluster championships. The new PVC Indoor sports flooring brings together performance, comfort and security for the users reducing their injuries and increasing their sensations. The cost of maintenance for PVC Indoor sports flooring is quite low in compare to other flooring solutions. The most profound characteristic of the indoor sports flooring is that it is safe because it reduces friction caused by heat and injuries caused because of slippage. ‘The students will benefit from learning sports in these new facilities whilst building their confidence and team work skills, ISB Chairman Prince S Natarajan said. The Indian School Sports and Cultural Centre was established in 1985.
