ISB Riffa Campus Presents Spectacular Musical “All the Charms of Arabia

Celebrating the academic excellence, the Indian School Bahrain (ISB)Riffa Campus held its annual Awards Ceremony with the grand theme “All the Charms of Arabia” on May 2, 2019. Chief Guest Ahmed J. Al-Haiki, Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs, Ministry of Labour and Social Development graciously honoured more than 600 little scholars with Certificates of Merit. ISB Hon. Chairman Prince S. Natarajan, Hon. Secretary Saji Antony, Hon. Member Academics and Procurement Mohammad Khursheed Alam, Hon Member Facilities and Maintenance Premalatha NS , Hon. Member Finance Adv.Binu Mannil Varughese , Hon. Member Sports and Discipline Rajesh Nambiar, Hon. Member Health and Environment Ajayakrishnan V, Hon. Member Transport ( Isa Town) Saji George, Hon. Member Transport ( Riffa Campus) Mohammed Nayaz Ullah, Principal V.R. Palaniswamy, Staff Representative Johnson Devassy , Riffa Campus Principal Pamela Xavier, Vice Principal G. Satheesh , parents, staff and students attended. As the guests arrived, they were gleefully greeted by the Welcome Troupe flaunting their colorful Arabic attire; the Band and Scouts and Guides enthused the invitees and added a touch of elegance to the evening. At the onset, the little ones evoked the history and traditions of the lands of India and Bahrain by rendering the National Anthems, verses from the Holy Quran and with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The charismatic voices of the ISB choristers resonated through the aisles of the school as they sang the School Song . The entire programme was anchored by 7 and 8 year olds from classes 2 and 3. Riffa Campus Principal Pamela Xavier officially welcomed the dignitaries and the audience in her inspirational keynote speech and shared the initiatives of 2018-2019 calling it a year that was “ fit and fine” and looked forward to many an initiative during the ISB @ 70 celebrations. In his presidential address, Hon Chairman. Prince S. Natarajan congratulated the students and teachers on the outstanding results of Class 12 at the CBSE examination, which has set new records on the island. He applauded all the ISB teachers, especially the teachers of the Riffa Campus for laying the foundation and being the cornerstone for this historic achievement. He concluded by prioritizing 'investing in the student’s education’ as the most important aspect and congratulated the parents as well on that note. Hon. Member Academics and Procurement Mohammad Khursheed Alam praised teachers for the manifold engaging learning activities which witnessed excellent results . Teamwork at Riffa campus was highlighted as lively and vivacious. Chief Guest Ahmed J. Al-Haiki was all praise for the remarkable efforts of ISB in upholding the sentiments of the diverse cultures and bringing out the best in students both academically as well as in building their talents. Hon. Secretary, Saji Antony appreciated Team Riffa for yet another feather in their cap. He commended the new projects undertaken by the school and the significant strides made across all areas focusing on improvising Primary Education. The Arabic theme was vivid in the ambience, the catchy announcements and came alive through the effervescent performances by around 200 students. The sequence of entertainment paced the momentum of the event beginning with the Indo-Bahrain fusion dance . ‘A Whole New World’ was rendered bilingually from the Walt Disney Classic and captivated the minds of the listeners. The Egyptian Ecstasy was yet another dance thriller thoroughly performed to perfection. The final Arabian musical pantomime ‘Awesome Aladdin’ was a spell binding mystical performance. The venue reverberated with thunderous applause, and goodwill heralding the season of Ramadan. Students proposed the Vote of Thanks and the curtains were drawn on yet another stupendous show.
